Winterizing the main summer cottage on this Ocean Drive property would have eliminated all it's character and charm, so we turned our attention to the neglected garage building at the back of the lot. A virtual demolition left us with a footprint positioned to take advantage of views to the Atlantic Ocean from the main rooms, balconies and open porches.

This is the quintessential seaside cottage with a living/dining room which opens onto a covered terraces and 3 bedrooms with access to upper level decks and could be enjoyed through the summer by guests and the winter by family long after the main house was closed down.

For the interiors we used vertical alternating tongue and groove board siding and charming details such as the projecting window seat at the stair, an oversized dutch door and classic trim. In the master bedroom a tiny raised fireplace visible from the bed is tucked between doors to the waterside balcony and the vaulted ceiling is finished with the same tongue and groove finish.
